Mary Surbridge

Corresponding Secretary

The year 2016 marks 25 years since my diagnosis with breast cancer. I have been a board member for BCAG for ten years. My tenure with the organization began the same year I retired from teaching. I taught in Washington State, Japan, and in California wherever my husband’s Navy career sent us, finishing up as an ESL Language Arts teacher for Salinas High School Dist. I love being part of a group of women who are breast cancer survivors, all volunteers, and all advocates for women who are being treated for or recovering from breast cancer. The organization listens to the applicant’s needs and is able to expeditiously help with the most basic requests, relieving stress and allowing the woman to focus on her recovery.
