While undergoing breast cancer treatment, I learned the value in accepting support and comfort from others. I had surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation ten years apart, 20 and 10 years ago. Both times I was fortunate to have many people assist me along the way. One of the most meaningful relationships I developed was with a patient navigator from our nearby hospital. Connecting with a cancer survivor who understood the range of emotions that results from a cancer diagnosis was instrumental in my recovery.

I am a new member of the BCAG team and am honored to join a board of volunteers who have a deepened sense of understanding about the challenges we face when dealing with cancer and consequently how we can help one another. I am a career educator and a part-time lecturer at CSUMB. My husband and I live in Prunedale and enjoy sailing, hiking, and traveling. One of my favorite passions comes from my ongoing work reading with second graders in North Monterey County.
