Breast Cancer Assistance Grants

Eligible applicants may receive financial assistance with basic living expenses (housing, gas, utilities, food, childcare and personal care) during treatment and recovery. Partial support of complementary therapies (such as acupuncture or therapeutic massage) are considered on a case by case basis. BCAG does not assist with medical costs.

Who receives grants?

Breast Cancer Assistance Grants are given to women or men who have a financial need associated with their breast cancer and are either:

  • Residents of Monterey County who are being treated by physicians located anywhere
  • Residents of Monterey, San Benito or Santa Cruz Counties who are being treated by Monterey County physicians

More than 245 women in our community will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year and many will be severely impacted financially by their diagnosis and treatment.

How do I apply?

Complete the grant application and mail to:

Please include all relevant information including letters from your physicians, medical records or billings. All information is considered carefully and confidentially by a committee of women who have experienced breast cancer themselves.

What can you expect?

After your application is received, a BCAG representative may phone you for additional information to process your request.

If your application is approved, BCAG may send you a check, or make payment directly to your creditors. The amount of the grant is dependent upon the availability of funding, and the number of requests received.
